The Beauty Cabin has undergone training with ESPA & The Amethyst Trust, who have developed an
approach to treating clients living with/recovering from cancer, through the creation of
specialist massage training.
The course was one of the first to be approved by a leading insurance provider and has been approved by the Industry Standards Authority for Touch in Cancer Care (SATCC), along with Habia, the Federation of Holistic Therapies (FHT) and is also endorsed by Penny Brohn UK.
There are a plethora of myths surrounding whether massage is safe whilst undergoing cancer treatment or for those who have had cancer and recovered and the reality is that it is perfectly safe if adaptations are made.
Experts predict that one in two people are going to experience some form of cancer in their
lifetime. Sobering news and the main reason why now, more than ever, it is important that at our salon we provide safe and inclusive treatments to those touched by cancer and that we are able to fully embrace the amazing benefits of massage therapy and to treat those clients safely and effectively.
